Music is an art; however, when it comes to the music industry music is about money. If anyone or any company feels that your music is not good enough to make them money, there will be absolutely no interest in your music no matter how nice you may think it is. That is what the essence of digital music is in the nut shell. It is important to always have this at the back of our minds especially if someone is nursing the intentions of getting into lime light from music. The music industry like any other industry is about making money and sometimes fame and popularity. But it is interesting to know that money, fame and popularity go together.
The avenues through which money is made from music are so numerous. There are situations where a musician may make so much money from commercial advertisement contracts from diverse companies that it will by far exceed what they have made from sales of their albums. Album sales sometimes are not so successful as a result of some market bottle necks and even excessive expenditures.
Huge monies can also be made from music by artistes and musician from special appearances and events. This events are diverse and there happening almost all the time in diverse locations. The onus is on the personal manager of the musician to arrange for such events. It can be award ceremonies, wedding receptions, birthday parties, dinner events and grand ball events where so many other important people and celebrities are in attendance. Big organizations or rich individuals can afford to pay for this kind of services.
